EmberP0 tests on the iPad
These pages answer the questions that could change the plan. Run each one on the test iPad, mark Pass or Fail, then copy the results at the bottom and paste them to Claude Code. Results stay on this iPad; nothing is sent anywhere.
First: tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen, and open "Ember tests" from the Home Screen. The microphone and restart tests only count when run that way.
1. Microphone permission
Does the iPad remember the microphone permission after closing, reopening and restarting?
2. Ember hearing itself or a TV
Does Ember hear its own voice, or the TV, as if someone spoke?
3. Restart and interruptions
Power off, iPad update, FaceTime, Siri, overnight: does Ember come back with at most one tap?
4. Three looks side by side

5. The iPad's built-in voices
Are the free built-in voice and speech recognition good enough as a backup?
Tested on the PC, not here
- Voice round-trip speed: 2.3 to 2.8 seconds from when you stop talking to when Ember's voice starts (target about 2). The fix is known; see the status report.
- Voice quality, Aura-2 vs Aura-1: five samples to listen to are in the status-reports folder on the PC.
Still waiting
- Bluetooth hearing aids: needs a hearing aid to test with.
- Lifelike portrait clips: wait until the microphone and echo tests pass, and your OK on any spend.
